Our garments are intentionally crafted to fit slightly larger than standard sizing, making them ideal for rugged use and layering.

Jackets:

For a more tapered, tailored fit, size down. If you plan to layer underneath, stick with your normal size.

Shirts:

For a more streamlined, fitted look, size down from your usual size.

Vests:

For a snug fit, choose your normal size. If you plan to layer underneath, size up for the best comfort and functionality.

Product Information

The Chief Vest is built to be the toughest vest on the market. Cut from 24 oz waxed canvas and lined with 12 oz 100% wool, it delivers serious weight, warmth, and durability—at 3.5 lbs in a size medium, it’s nearly three times heavier than most vests in its class.

New this year is a cropped fit, making it easier to access your pants pockets without sacrificing coverage. A rear tail flapblocks cold air from riding up your back, while chest hand warmer pockets are placed for comfort when sitting, and side-entry lower pockets keep your hands shielded in the cold. A Heavy Duty Wool Rib Knit collar adds comfort and protection against wind and weather.

Finished with a two-way solid brass No. 10 zipper that won’t rust, reinforced with triple-stitched seams and bonded nylon thread, and cut for real work in real conditions.

Proudly made in our shop in Passaic, New Jersey, the Chief Vest is built for grit, function, and a lifetime of wear.

    Care Instructions

    Don’t machine wash, dry clean, or tumble dry—ever. Brush off dirt, spot clean with cold water, and air dry away from heat. Re-wax every year or two to keep it weatherproof. Store cool and dry. Treated right, your vest will outlast you and look better every season.
