This piece is built from a heavyweight 100% wool waffle knit, with a Medium weighing approximately 25 ounces. That is nearly 25% heavier than our previous version and heavier than most crewneck sweaters on the market, while still breathing and regulating temperature the way wool is meant to.

Unlike most thermals that rely on synthetic fibers and lightweight fabrics, this is the real thing. No plastic fibers. Just natural wool doing what it has always done best.

At this weight, it is not your typical base layer.

It can be worn directly against the skin, over a tee, under a jacket, or on its own as the temperature changes. The waffle structure creates natural loft, trapping warmth close to the body while allowing excess heat and moisture to escape.

It keeps you warm without overheating and dry without feeling clammy.

Despite its substantial weight, the quality of the wool makes it comfortable against bare skin. It has texture. It has character. It is built for performance.

This year, we made it heavier and brought the entire production process home. The fabric is knit in New Jersey and each shirt is cut and sewn in our Passaic shop.

Before cutting, the fabric is carefully washed to remove approximately 95% of its natural shrinkage without being superwashed or chemically stripped of the characteristics that make wool perform so well.

That also makes this version machine washable. Wash cold and air dry to preserve its fit, structure, and performance.

To finish the piece, we added details built to last.
